The prosecution takes over the case of the murder of a nine-year-old child | The new times

The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) is about to submit to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPPA) the case of Solange Nyirangiruwonsanga who is suspected of murdering a nine-year-old boy.

According to RIB spokesperson, Thierry B. Murangira, the case of Nyirangiruwonsanga, arrested on June 12, will be submitted to the prosecution on Monday June 20.

The suspect worked as a servant at the victim’s home in Ndera Sector, Gasabo District and the incident occurred on June 12, when his father left home for jogging while his mother was also away for his work.

Murangira told The New Times that preliminary investigations have revealed there is evidence to suspect the woman killed the victim.

“During the investigation, she admitted to having murdered him,” Murangira said.

However, he did not reveal much information about the motive for the child’s murder, noting that investigations are still ongoing.

The prosecution should review the file before deciding to produce the suspect in court.

Meanwhile, RIB reminded the public that murder is a crime and anyone who commits it should be brought to justice, while urging people to be careful with their maids.

The suspect is currently being held at Remera RIB station.

By law, if convicted, a crime of murder carries a life sentence.
