Man accused of assaulting 3-year-old refused to see Bond Court judge – NBC 6 South Florida
The man who police said was filmed beating a three-year-old at an Allapattah pharmacy refused to appear before a judge on bail on Sunday.
Police identified the man as Marvin Green. He remains behind bars as the three-year-old’s family await justice for what appears to be a random beating.
“Marvin Green refused to go,” the Bond Court video could be heard.
Green, who police say is a 27-year-old homeless man, is known to law enforcement, but not to the mother of the three-year-old boy who police say was punched in the back of head by Green, it caused internal bleeding.
The incident was filmed at 2 p.m. on December 13 at the Walgreens located at 1695 Northwest 20th Street in Allapattah.
You can see the three-year-old, identified as Samuel, standing with his mother as the suspect walks up and hits him – then runs away without any explanation.
Green was arrested on Friday for aggravated ill-treatment and possession of a stolen firearm. He was also charged with a warrant in Miami-Dade County for criminal mischief.
Samuel is now recovering at his home, thanks to the help of the Miami Police Force who surprised him with a special visit to drop off gifts.
According to court documents, Green has three previous felony convictions, including the abuse of an elderly disabled adult.
